Next James River CATT is Sept 12 at Osborne!
This past weekend we had our annual Phantom event out of Riverfront Park. We had 43 teams come out to compete with 17 teams entered in the $25 Side Pot, 23 in the $50 Side Pot and then 17 in the $25 Side Pot. The weather was overcast with chances of rain, but it held, and we were treated with a beautiful day for some fishing, laughs and good food. I’d like to thank Tony Long for jumping in the trailer with me morning of to lend a hand with registration. It couldn’t have gone more smoother bro so again thank you
.
In 1st place with a weight of 19.84lbs goes to Thomas Milton – Cody Casey. Their weight was anchored by a 6.56lbs stud. With the dub the fellas also cashed in on the $100 and $50 Side pot, so they took home 1st in both brackets. Heck of an added payday guys but more importantly way to get back-to-back wins so again congratulations!!!
work boys!!!
In 2nd place is our father-daughter team of the two and only Tripp Mistr and Morgan Naumann. They dropped 19.37 on the scales and their weight was backed with a 6.48lbs tank but also having that 5.50lbs in their bag definitely cemented their weight. Very impressive to stay dominant!!!!
In 3rd place with 17.43lbs is the team of Micah Mitten – Colin Mcgough. These young gentlemen also had our events Big Fish with a monster 9.79lbs!!!! The head on this girl was insane!!! With 3rd and Big Fish….they also cashed in big. 1st in the $25 Side Pot, 2nd in the $50 Side Pot AND 2nd in the $100 Side Pot!!! That bass was beautiful fellas and awesome job!
In 4th place with place with 17.26lbs was the team of Robby Byrum and Keith Smith. Their weight was secured with a 5.48lbs hammer. These gentlemen also took home 3rd in the $100 Side pot, 3rd in the $50 Side Pot and 2nd in the $25 Side Pot rounding off our Side Pot winners. Congratulations and thank you for making the trip from SC to compete!!
In 5th place with 15.94lbs is another solid Father-Son team in Curtis Combs Sr and CJ Combs. I appreciate you guys a ton and always look forward to seeing y’all at the end!! Congratulations fellas!!!
In 6th place with 15.82lbs is the team of Brandon Palmore and Matt Kite. Their weight was backed by a 6.47lbs giant, and they’ve added another check to their resume. Solid performance guys!
In 7th place with 14.71lbs is the team of Lance Edwards and Richard Rodriguez. Thank you, guys, for coming out and competing and congrats on cashing another check!!!
In 8th place with 14.53lbs goes to James Whirehead and Matt Hockady. Way to go guys on cashing a check and solid performance to you both!! I hope to see you guys again!!
This rounds out our money winners. I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed their selves. We love seeing the smiles and mostly getting to watch the little ones run around and play was the best part for me aside from watching that almost 10 pounder come out that bag lol. Shoot out to Earl for bringing the food and adding to the family fun vibes we strive to give everyone. We are a family. I will do everything in my power to keep us that way. Huge shoot out to Tony, Paul Harris, Michael Mccrickard and the staff at James River CATT. We have teams from other divisions wanting to come to compete with us so please you all be proud for the level of professionalism you all bring to each event. Huge shoot out to our awesome sponsors for all they do for us to make these events possible. It’s a full circle. Michael and Paul, I mean it, thank you guys for always coming to me and seeing what we need help with.
Next event is 9-12 an out of Osbourne Park. Also, there’s 2 events left to qualify for the classic. If you enjoyed the Phantom we plan on having something very similar for the classic. So, if you need to fish to qualify this is your last 2 chances to get in. You must fish 4 events to qualify for the classic. With that gang I’m going back to bed to get rid of this bug that’s got me. I hope to see you all at the next one!
