Next up on the James River is the Phantom Aug 15 out of Rt 5! Last year we paid back almost $12,000 at this event with 42 boats entered!

Good afternoon, folks. Yesterday we had our 5th event of the season with 50 teams launching out of Osbourne landing. 35 teams entered the optional $50 dollar side pot with confidence and the weights reflected that. With the morning giving us scattered showers then a wave of rain that lasted on the Richmond end for a few hours leading the way for a beautiful 2nd half of the day. Teams reported catching fish throughout the day on a variety of baits. Before we get placement done, shoot outs.

Huge thank you to my Dad Howard Austin for helping tow my rig back so I didn’t have to make 2 trips to Osbourne yesterday. Huge help sir, we live you a ton pops!

Shoot out to Amber Austin, Harvey Reese, KL Davis, James Tilley and Alex Crosby for busting your butts yesterday and making this trail a fun place to be. I love you guys and appreciate everything y’all do for us.

In 1st place with 20.22lbs anchored by a 5.30lbs hammer was Thomas Milton & Brandon Casey! These two young men also sweetened their earnings by taking home 1st in the $50 Side Pot. I didn’t get a chance to speak with them but again fellas’ congratulations on a strong victory!!!

 

2nd place with 17.37lbs was the team of Mike Hicks and Keith Lupo. These gentlemen also sweetened their earning by taking home 2nd in the $50 Side Pot. Congratulations and thank you Mike for sponsoring us and lending a hand whenever we need it buds!!!

3rd place with 16.98lbs goes to THE Brandon Coffey & THE Bubba Whitehurstlol. Their weight was anchored by a 5.41lbs tank! Congrats guys and thank you for the good times as always ❤️

4th place goes to some really good guys in Frank Poirier & Brian Durham who weighed in 16.03lbs. They also took home the events Big Fish Honors with a 6.71lbs beast AND the 3rd and final $50 Side Pot place. Heck of a payday fellas, enjoy! 💪 work!

5th place with 15.98lbs went to Ben Dalton and Lemar Shores. Solid work guys!

6th place with 15.79lbs anchored by a 4.91lbs stud was the team of Larry Freeman and Shawn Hammock. Good job guys!

7th place with 15.73lbs went to a solid Father-Son team in Ryan Grattan and Danny Grattan. Thank you for the support fellas and solid work!

8th place with 15.30lbs went to me and Alex Crosby. Thank you all for the love at weigh in! Good job also Alex!
9th place with 14.99lbs goes to Avery Powelson and Brian Brooks Good job guys!
10th place is special and deserves a nod. With 14.83lbs anchored by a 6.07lbs beast was our lady angler Morgan Naumann who fished with her brother Brent Mistr. Our first Sister-Brother team I’ve announced. This is what it’s about. Passing down knowledge and experience to the younger generation. Tripp Mistr was very proud of these 2 at weigh in. Congratulations you 2!!!
These were our events money winners. I appreciate everyone who came out and competed with us yesterday. We had some solid weights and a decent number of healthy bass weighed in yesterday and a few Smallies to boot.
