Here are the results of the CATT Open held on Lake Norman this past Saturday. It was a fog delayed morning as the launch did not get off until 8:30 AM. We were blessed to have 30 boats come out and fish with us yesterday with 21 of which bringing a bag to the scale. Here are the details:
6th place was won by Mitchell Hampton who weighed in 14.72 LBS on 5 fish for a $75.00 check.
5th place was taken by the team of Steve Addington and Matt Stout who weighed in five fish at 14.81 LBS with a nice 5.05 LB kicker. Enough for 5th but not enough for the big fish! They won a check for $100.00 for the 5th place finish and the 3rd place 50 side pot fell to them for an additional $150.00 for a $250.00 payday.
4th place went to partners Jerry Ramsey and Patrick Marshall who delivered a 5 fish limit totaling 14.94 LBS. This won them a check for $125.00 for their efforts.
3rd place was brought home with a 5-fish limit weighing in at a nice 15.51 LBS. Delivering these fish to me was the tandem of Dave Calvert and Bill Carothers earning them a nice payday of $165.00. Good job to you both.
Our 2nd place winnings for the day went to the boat carrying Brandon Eggers and Jeff Wingler out of the 27th spot who won their place on the board with a stout 15.93 LB bag of five heathy fish. The 2nd place finish won the team a nice $275.00 for the placement PLUS they won an additional $300.00 and $200.00 for the 2nd place $25 and $50 side pot for a total days’ pay of $775.00. Very nice work gentlemen!
Finally, our first-place champions of the day went to the Harris brothers of Preston Harris and Stanton Harris who won the tournament with a total sack of five incredible fish at 17 LBS even. This also included the BIG FISH of the day of a big-headed largemouth weighing in at 5.90 LBS. They took home a sweet check for $500.00 for their first place finish…PLUS another $150.00 foir the BIG FISH…PLUS…they also won first place in the $25 and $50 side pots for checks in the amount of $550.00 and $450.00 respectively. I did the math…although it was incorrect at first…it comes out to a cool $1,650.00 payday. Noth bad for 8 hours work!!!
A couple of for fun stats…for this tourney, the field caught a total of 100 fish total weighing a collective 269.71 LBS for an average weight of 2.69 LBS. For this season at CATT across four tourneys run, there have been 387 fish caught weighing a collective 1,055.89 LBS averaging 2.73 LBS per fish caught.
CATT will be back at it again next weekend, 3/23/2024 going OUT OF PINNACLE LANDING / 150 BRIDGE!!! Blast of should be around 7 AM through 3 PM but could adjust due to conditions.
